Donald Trump visibly annoyed by question over incendiary Brexit comments

"Paris Nice, Brussels, Berlin, cities in American have all suffered terror attacks so it's for President Trump to explain why he singled me as the mayor of London out", he said.

Trump then appeared to contradict himself by saying "fortunately we tend to record stories now, so we have it for your enjoyment", adding "it's called fake news", although it isn't clear how an audio recording of his interview could be fake news. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Brexit Secretary David Davis both quit the government this week in protest.

"Just make sure we can trade together, that's all that matters", he said.

He added that May should make sure "we don't have any restrictions" on post-Brexit trade, contrasting it with European Union tariffs on cars and restrictions on farm imports.

During a joint news conference with Ms May, Mr Trump said he had "a lot of respect for the Prime Minister".

Meanwhile, HBO's Thrones and Westworld nabbed 22 and 21 nominations each, while the dark comedy Barry scored 13 nods. She wasn't nominated for an Emmy in 2017, either.

He also told the tabloid that he had shared advice with May during Britain's negotiations with the European Union, but said May ignored his advice.

"I would have done it much differently", Trump said.

Before his meeting with May, Trump had already dismayed her team by breaching diplomatic protocol and criticizing her handling of Brexit negotiations in his interview with the Sun. And she didn't follow those views. "I think it changed the fabric of Europe, and unless you act very quickly, it's never going to be what it was, and I don't mean that in a positive way".

He insisted: "I said I thought it was going to happen and it did happen". He called the Brexit negotiations "a very tough situation" and said the only thing "I ask of Theresa" is that the two nations can trade, "because we want to trade with the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom wants to trade with us". "It was, I think, a celebration of the very special relationship the United States had".

Looking ahead to his meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin on Monday, Trump said he would be discussing many topics but his biggest hope was an agreement to substantially reduce nuclear proliferation - his ultimate dream was to get rid of the weapons altogether, he said.

The four-day trip, which will include talks with Prime Minister Theresa May, tea with Queen Elizabeth II and a private weekend in Scotland, is set to be greeted by a mass protest in London on Friday - even featuring a giant "Trump baby" balloon.

"I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London".

He also said he "used to love London" but now chooses not to visit the city. I haven't been there in a long time. I am assuming that his mum told him that when you go to someone's house you do not insult the host.

A pro-Trump demonstration in London has been scheduled for Saturday. A number of protests against his visit are taking place.
