Hatters boss backs Three Lions to win the World Cup

Writing for The Sun about the song's success, co-writer David Baddiel said: "When we wrote the song, the refrain "football's coming home" referred to both the fact the tournament was being held in England, and to the more mystical idea that we might win".

"For me, Uruguay have been excellent, I like Belgium, but I think it will be a Croatia, England semi-final, and then if England get though I fancy them, I really fancy them".

With the semi-finals of the World Cup 2018 fast approaching, it's safe to say that England has never been so united.

Overall, Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds have two UK No.1s, two Top 10s, five weeks at No.1, 16 weeks in the Top 10, 33 in the Top 40 and 50 in the Top 75.

England Croatia semi-final
We have two matches to play and we are very motivated. "And there, there are Englishmen who owe us something, ever since 2009". That Croatia side hammered Germany 3-0 to reach the semis in France , and Dalic is looking for a similar result on Saturday.

The Black Country comedian has shown he is well and truly caught up in the World Cup fever as England go for glory against Croatia on Wednesday night. The game officially branched off from rugby there in 1863, with the creation of the Football Association in England, according to FIFA.

Along with the clip, posted on Twitter, he wrote: "It's coming home... guess who?"

Dubbing "Three Lions" over absolutely every movie ever made has proved to be a popular theme.

What does "It's coming home" mean?

For the moment, fans of the song - not to mention Epic and Columbia, who released it - can smile again, as it looks set to crack the Top 40 this week. This time, England are going The Full Monty...

But hey, you can still have some fun with misinformation, such as showing a bunch of English lads how to sing "Three Lions" in Irish.

The song shot up 32 places after England's win against Sweden on 7 July.

Online streaming service Spotify reports that Three Lions was streamed almost half a million times on England's match against Colombia, and has gone through the roof following the team's Sweden win.
