India beats England in 3rd T20, wins series 2-1

Rohit Sharma backed up the heroics of pace bowler Hardik Pandya by hitting 100 not out as India clinched the T20 worldwide series against England at Bristol yesterday.

A chase of 199 was always going to be a daunting one for India and Shikhar Dhawan's third cheap dismissal of the series did not help their case. In an entertaining partnership with Rohit, Kohli added 89 runs for the third wicket to take the game away from the home team. England had got off to a sensational start, as openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler shared a 94-run stand in just seven odd overs.

A six brought up Roy's half-century from 23 balls - the joint second quickest for England in T20s - and the hosts looked set for a total in excess of 200.

But Hales and England's other batsmen had been working on the bowling machine nicknamed Merlyn which they use to mimic bowlers' actions and it paid off with Hales and the rest neutering Yadav who went wicketless.

England Croatia semi-final
We have two matches to play and we are very motivated. "And there, there are Englishmen who owe us something, ever since 2009". That Croatia side hammered Germany 3-0 to reach the semis in France , and Dalic is looking for a similar result on Saturday.

7 - Hardik Pandya became the seventh player overall to score 30-plus runs and take four-plus wickets in a T20I.

A long tour of England can bring contingencies, and India responded gloriously to the first of those to maintain their clean sheet in T20I bilateral series of three matches. Not one, not two, but five superb catches, showed his exemplary level of fitness. Buttler was bowled heaving at Kaul Siddarth, while Roy edged a slower ball from debutant Deepak Chahar.

"Teams like Pakistan, India, they have a big following and we're used to it".

The 24-year-old had a nightmare start to his afternoon when he conceded 22 from his first over before bouncing back with a match-winning performance. Hardik played a crucial 14 ball 33 with four fours and 2 sixes.

It’s on: US, China tariffs take effect in new trade war
Last month, the European Union imposed tariffs on American goods worth Dollars 3 billion such as yachts, bourbon and motorcycles. Supply chains will also be negatively affected, said Cliff Tan, head of global market researchat Japan's MUFG Bank in Hong Kong.

But India's strength in depth meant the runs just kept coming.

At the halfway stage, England were 111/2 but Pandya then dented England's surge as Morgan top-edged a back of a length delivery which Dhoni smothered, clattering the stumps in his follow through, and Hales was caught behind.

The short, straight boundaries, the pitch not offering much lateral movement, made it a tough day for the bowlers. Jason and Jos were brilliant up front, and nearly gave us a licence to allow ourselves to think about 220. "We applied pressure and pulled the game back nicely". "But the character they showed, that's something we're very proud of".

5 - Rohit Sharma became the fifth batsman after Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptill, Shoaib Malik and Virat Kohli to score 2000 T20I runs. "I think we competed quite well but England were the better side, that's why they came through today (Friday)", Kohli said after the defeat in Cardiff.
