Beryl weakens to tropical storm; Tropical Depression 3 getting better organized

Hurricane Beryl has strengthened in the tropical Atlantic becoming the first hurricane of the 2018 season.

Due to Beryl's small size - with tropical storm winds extending outward only about 35 miles and hurricane force winds extending out about 10 miles from its center - there is greater-than-usual uncertainty in the analysis of Beryl's current intensity.

Weather forecasters say Tropical Storm Chris is likely to strengthen to a hurricane by Monday but will remain well away from the US coast for the next two or three days. Puerto Rico, which was devastated by Hurricane Maria in September, remains under a state of emergency.

The government of Dominica said it would shut down its water system and Puerto Rico's governor warned of likely new power outages.

Vienna meet on nuclear deal supports Iran's continued oil, gas exports
Several major firms - including France's Total and Peugeot, and Russia's Lukoil - have said they are preparing to leave. Washington has since told countries they must stop buying Iranian oil from November 4 or face financial measures.

Rossello encouraged residents living in homes with roofs covered by blue tarps to find refuge in shelters or family members' homes.

The storm is sitting on some cooler waters beneath Beryl.

The cold front's approach will support an uptick in shower and storm chances Friday night through Saturday around 50 or 60%. "They should not let their guard down", he said. Beryl increased its forward movement a bit, to 16 miles per hour. Read on for details on the Atlantic's tropical system, Beryl, and also local forecast details. It'll weaken to a Tropical Storm going into Thursday afternoon and evening and weaken to a depression this weekend. It was centered 285 miles (455 kilometers) east of Martinique and was moving west-northwestward at 20 mph (31 kph). While the storm was still categorized as Tropical Depression 3 on Saturday, a man died when he was caught in rough surf on a beach on North Carolina.

"Beryl is expected to remain in a light vertical wind shear environment today, but an increase in westerly shear is expected on Sunday, and the shear is forecast to become quite strong as Beryl moves over the eastern Caribbean early next week", the hurricane center said.

Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier get into scuffle at UFC 226
Cormier has been trying to carve a niche of his own but the specter of Jon Jones looms no matter how high he flies. He will now head back to Northeast Ohio with his wife, Ryan, due to give birth to their daughter in a few weeks.

The storm is one of two that forecasters have been watching over the last week.

NHC has not revised their forecast. Both are in Canada.

The Caribbean should see fewer storms, and the chance of a major hurricane hitting the region is significantly less than it was when the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season began.

"Most people I know are aware that this storm doesn't seem to be a second Maria, but is simply a wake-up call that the hurricane season is here and we are still extremely vulnerable", Rivera-Cruz added. It dumped heavy rain on the southeastern United States.

Galaxy Note 9 S-Pen could control your music
A new filing by the FCC in the United States shows the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 S-stylus will have Bluetooth capabilities. Assuming this is the case, it would make sense to debut the Galaxy X at CES, thereby keeping the spotlight on the S10 at MWC.
