Real Madrid see Cristiano Ronaldo's departure as a possibility

Cristiano Ronaldo looks increasingly likely to leave Real Madrid this summer after the Spanish giants decided they will accept an £88m offer from Juventus, according to reports. Talks have intensified and "Marca" reported on it's front page on Tuesday that transfer negotiations with Juventus had begun, and a deal would go through barring a last-minute turn.

At 33 his best days would seem to be behind him, give or take the odd brilliant free-kick, and although Real Madrid have tried to tempt him with a new contract, the Sun says he wants to sample a new club in the twilight of his career.

Tearful Japan fans crushed by team's last-gasp loss to Belgium
Belgium boss Roberto Martinez was more optimistic, and said the benefit of the extra rest would outweigh any potential negatives. Group G toppers Belgium will be heavily favored against Group H runner-up Japan in their Round of 16 match in Rostov-on-Don.

Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti was questioned on the sensational reports circulating suggesting multi-time world player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo could be headed to Juventus.

Any transfer would still require Ronaldo to agree personal terms on a new contract.

Another giant falls as Russian Federation eliminate Spain
Despite 75% possession, Spain had to wait until the 85th minute to test Akinfeev with a low drive from Andres Iniesta . Russia's Alexander Yerokhin went on in the 97th minute against Spain , replacing fellow midfielder Daler Kuzyaev.

"It was very nice to be at Real Madrid", he said on BeIn Sports after the 3-1 win.

Real's change in stance and new-found willingness to allow Ronaldo to leave is expected to entice both Manchester United and PSG to make a move, with both clubs having shown an interest in the past. Last month, he reportedly agreed to pay €18.8 million to settle his tax case.
