Comcast Dealing With Nationwide Outages

The Philadelphia company said on its verified Twitter account that one of its "large backbone network partners had a fiber cut". "We apologize for the inconvenience". The company has responded on social media that service will be restored. It was the second Comcast outage in the past few weeks.

Employees at Comcast in Centre County, Pa., said there was nothing they could do for cable customers until their internal system was rebooted.

Reports of problems with the cable conglomerate are especially focused along the Eastern Seaboard, from Richmond up through Boston, but a map from DownDetector shows large clusters of outages in almost every large city in the U.S. Outages this month also include a lack of phone service on June 7 reported by Comcast Businesses, and restoration of fibers in Boston cut by a third party.
