Anxiety hit us hard, says Brazil coach Tite after Switzerland draw

The Germans are bidding to become the first team to retain the World Cup title since Brazil in 1962.

Revered by his players and credited with turning Brazil's national team around, Tite knows he's not ideal.

"In the first half we managed to play defensively with a great deal of intelligence.

And not everyone (in Brazil) likes me", Tite said, chuckling.

But the Brazilians bounced back from that unexpected loss in Nigeria, becoming some of the best players in the world.

When asked about who might light up the World Cup, Carlos wrote in his column for the Sunday Mirror: "People talk about Messi, Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar, but for me, Willian is right up there".

The world's most expensive player had surgery after breaking a foot bone in February and only began playing again in two warmup games for Brazil in the weeks before the World Cup began in Russian Federation. "But the most important is that we have peace of mind so that we can recover well and go back to Sochi with our families to gear up for the next match". "I was expecting to get a victory so, of course, I'm not happy with the result", continued Tite.

Brazil will next face Costa Rica on Friday in St. Petersburg, while Switzerland faces Serbia in Kaliningrad on the same day.

"It's not up to me, there are three professionals working there", said Neymar, referring to the officials.

The Paris St-Germain forward suffered a fractured metatarsal and sprained ankle in February, and although Tite believes the player is in "good enough [condition] to play very well" in Russian Federation, he admitted he was still not fully over the injury. "And there are some people I don't like, too".

"The goal, the aggressiveness, the creative plays, it was characteristic of our team", Tite said.
