Land Rover moving production of Discovery SUV from United Kingdom to Slovakia

Jaguar Land Rover is to end production of its Discovery off-roader at its Solihull plant and move the work to its giant new factory in Slovakia.

The report added that the automaker planned to build the next-generation versions of its Range Rover and Range Rover Sport at the Solihull plant in the West Midlands of England.

Speaking to City A.M., a spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover confirmed that as a result of the refit, there may be some job losses at the plant for agency staff connected with Discovery production.

Jaguar Land Rover is to shift all production of its Discovery model to Slovakia from Birmingham in a move likely to affect hundreds of workers.

More often than not, it limited players from speaking to other schools in the same conference or on future schedules. A player who moves from one ACC school to another must sit out one season and will lose a season of eligibility.

The company said the switch will take place early next year and that agency workers are most under threat of losing their jobs.

The new Range Rover and Range Rover sport will however be built at the firm's central English Solihull plant on an architecture which is created to allow for diesel, petrol, electric and hybrid models to be produced.

Britain's biggest auto maker says production will move from Solihull to Slovakia in eastern Europe early next year.

The slump came as demand for diesel vehicles dropped, while the auto maker also blamed uncertainty over Brexit and vehicle taxation. And the only properly electric auto made by JLR - the Jaguar I-Pace - is already built overseas, at Magna Steyr in Austria.

Clashes near Yemens Hodeidah as UN seeks truce
The United Nations fears that a battle in Hodeidah could be devastating for the estimated 600,000 people still living in the city. The three-year conflict has killed more than 10,000 people and displaced more than 3 million.

JLR plans to open its brand new plant near Nitra late in 2018. Should it be taken as a warning that JLR - and, indeed, other automotive companies - could withdraw manufacturing from the United Kingdom if its exit from the European Union is disadvantageous to them?

In 2014 the automaker started production outside the United Kingdom for the first time when versions of the Rover Range Rover Evoque started rolling out of a plant in China. More recent versions have made the model more of a road vehicle than a traditional off-roader.

The cost-saving move is said to be a response to increased taxation and declining demand for Diesel and petrol technology cars.

In the United Kingdom, the company said it was "impacted by consumer uncertainty surrounding diesel models, Brexit and vehicle taxation".

NKorea Paper: Trump Agreed to Lift Sanctions
The president did not explain how the death of an American while being held hostage in North Korea led to peace, however. Trump and Kim signed an agreement to work toward denuclearization, but it appears weaker than past deals that failed.
