No Philadelphia Eagles Players Knelt During The Anthem In 2017 Season

U.S. President Donald Trump cancelled a White House celebration in honour of National Football League (NFL) champions Philadelphia Eagles after several of its players and coaches chose to not attend the event.

In response to Trump's allegations, former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith noted an Eagles player did not kneel last season.

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated", Trump said in a "Statement by the President" issued by his press office.

The President also noted that numerous Eagles weren't planning to attend the White House ceremony. Trump in return tweeted that "staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling".

Trump and Kim Jong-un hold extended meeting
When White House chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow went on CNN's "State of the Union" yesterday , he was mad at Justin Trudeau. The summit was part of a "changed era", North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency said in its first comments on the event.

Trump sang along to "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" during a brief ceremony that included the U.S. Marine Band and the U.S. Army chorus.

Curry and James both say that regardless of who wins the Cleveland-Golden State matchup in the NBA Finals, neither team will be going to the White House to celebrate.

The Warriors instead took a group of children on a visit to Washington's National Museum of African American History and Culture.

The decision to disinvite the whole team marks the end of speculations of whether the Eagles would attend the White House in some capacity.

The Eagles were scheduled to visit today, although many players were planning to opt out of the ceremony, with the team's blessing.

That message hasn't exactly remained consistent, especially as the league announced a new national anthem policy recently aimed at curbing the protests all together and giving teams the option to fine any players who wish to defy the new policy.

Jenkins, who raised a fist during the anthem as his own form of protest last season and already had addressed Trump's invitation reversal in a letter posted to Twitter, later told ESPN that he used the posters to redirect the conversation.

On Monday night, Fox News aired a news alert about President Trump's withdrawal of the Philadelphia Eagles' White House invitation that featured a pretty glaring misrepresentation.
