Porsche Taycan is the Mission E's official production name

Porsche's first full-electric sports auto won't hit the streets until next year but the Mission E concept now has a street-legal name: Taycan.

The vehicle was known as the Mission E since the unveiling of the concept in 2015, but it was always known that the production version will most likely feature a name that works with Porsche's current naming scheme.

Mission E was a good name, but Porsche's all-electric vehicle has shed its concept title and embraced something more in-keeping with the rest of the automaker's line-up.

GOP leader McConnell cancels most of Senate's August recess
It's unclear how much Democratic support exists and there's now no commitment their House counterparts would follow suit. Several steps have been taken during Trump's tenure to weaken the law, but Republicans have failed to kill it outright.

Ever since unveiling the concept, Porsche has been saying that the production version, which is expected to launch in 2019, will remain fairly similar.

The future Tesla Model S rival's J1 structure is one of three new electric vehicle platforms being developed within Porsche's parent company, the Volkswagen Group. Porsche has said that when the Taycan goes on sale, it'll recharge from empty to 80 percent in 20 minutes, which the company has already called "Turbo Charging".

The name translates loosely as "lively, young horse" from a Eurasian dialect- a nod to the firm's crest, which has featured a leaping horse since 1952.

The Taycan "must be a Porsche first", Stefan Weckbach, vice president of Porsche's battery electric vehicle program, told The New York Times recently. Porsche says that it won't happen here. Around 500 million euro is going to go on Taycan variants and derivatives, it says, while around a billion euro will got on electrification and hybridization of the existing Porsche line-up.

Porsche says a new paint shop, a dedicated assembly area, and a conveyor bridge for transporting the painted bodies and drive units to the final assembly area all are now being built.

Yahoo! Kills! The! Messenger!
Users will have six months after the shutdown to download their Messenger chat history for old times' sake. It was reborn as an app in December 2015, but unsurprisingly, it didn't take off like other chat apps.

A quick refresher: The Taycan is a sport sedan with an electric powertrain riding on a Porsche-developed platform code-named J1.
