Harry Kane signs new six-year deal with Spurs

The six-year contract Harry Kane signed is a milestone moment for Tottenham, and a statement of future intent from the North London club.

While it is unclear just how much Kane is earning now - it is understood that a reported figure of up to £200,000 a week including bonuses is wide of the mark - the club feel the sheer length of his new deal, which is unusual, shows just how much they value him.

Kane's deal is expected to be announced later today, while further extensions are expected to follow, with fellow England worldwide Dele Alli in similar discussions with the club.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has advised star man Harry Kane to join Real Madrid or Barcelona, should the Spanish giants come calling.

However, he plans on cutting his trip short to fly to Singapore for his upcoming summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un . As he headed to a G7 summit in Canada, Mr Trump said: "Russia should be in the meeting.

The pressure will be on Kane to deliver having established himself as the best striker in the Premier League and one of the best in Europe - scoring 135 goals across all competitions in the last four years.

At first, he was an alternative to Antoine Griezmann, but everything suggested the club's interest doesn't necessarily depend on the arrival of the France forward. The future at this club is bright, and that's the main thing.

Speaking about England's chances and the challenges of playing at a World Cup, Kane said: "Of course, with England there's going to be a lot of pressure on us this World Cup but there's pressure for every team - every big team that's there - you've got to perform".

The England global has been scoring goals on a regular basis for the past four seasons, and there are no signs that he is going to stop anytime soon.

Kane broke new ground for a Premier League player in 2017, with his 39 goals in 36 game smashing Alan Shearer's previous best of 36, which was compiled across 42 matches in 1995.

Kane can expect to take home more than double the £110,000 per week that he now earns at Tottenham, bringing him on par with some of the Premier League's best-paid stars.

Kane is now sixth in Tottenham's all-time top scorers list, sitting just three behind fifth-placed Jermain Defoe.

Kane was last month named England captain for the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup. I'm just excited to keep on the train and see where it can go.
