Anthony Bourdain's death impacts local community

Suicide rates are climbing in almost every demographic, age group and geographic area, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). "They have a stereotype in their mind of the person who takes their life and why".

Within the last month and a half DJ / Producer Avicii, fashion designer Kate Spade, and celebrity chef / television host Anthony Bourdain all have taken their own life.

Many people who died by suicide, according to the report, had recently experienced hard life events such as relationship problems, physical ailments, financial stress and job or home loss. But local mental health advocates said they are also seeing younger people struggling with suicidal impulses. But that doesn't mean it is not a mental health issue, as CDC suggest by saying that is just one factor, that may mean it is a diagnosis issue.

In Pennsylvania, the suicide rate has jumped more than 34 percent.

Last week, the president said he was considering pardoning Martha Stewart and commuting the sentence of former Illinois Gov. In May, Trump also posthumously pardoned former heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson.

The rates also climbed among all age groups, except for people over the age of 74. "And as long as they're doing that, people don't know they're suffering from a deeper problem", said Alexander.

Prevention efforts, often focused on mental health, could be broadened to focus on people undergoing life stresses like job losses or divorces, the CDC's Dr. Anne Schuchat said in a media briefing. The CDC's Vital Signs report notes that the rates of most causes of death have been declining.

The report found that firearms were the most common method of suicide for both those with and without mental illnesses. You might say you're noticing behaviors that can be associated with thoughts of suicide, Buhse said, and then ask, "Are you thinking of killing yourself?" "We call it a care plan, and it's a way for people to stay safe when they feel suicidal urges come out", said Scott Langernecker, Illinois chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Half of all USA states experienced an increase of more than 30%.

Ohio's suicide rate rose 31-37 percent since the turn of the century. Suicide rates were higher among males in Maryland, ranging from about 17 to 18 per 100,000 males.

Rates of increase varied.

Dicht said once the video began to surface on the internet, that's when Wildwood police charged Weinman with aggravated assault. Weinman on Good Morning America said the incident left her upset emotionally exhausted and with her neck and back hurting.

As she was driving to work Friday, Buhse said, she heard three mentions of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline's number, which is 800-273-8255.
