Reasons Why season 3: Katherine Langford will not be back as Hannah

The third season of 13 Reasons Why will land on Netflix in 2019.

The first season of Netflix's teen-centric drama 13 Reasons Why cut through the Peak TV clutter and got people talking, but when season 2 debuted late last month, there wasn't almost the same amount of buzz around the show.

Netlfix made its announcement via a YouTube teaser on Thursday (NZ time), less than a month after the launch of season two. So it stands to reason "13 Reasons Why" will remain controversial and divisive after its third season.

Not returning, however, is Katherine Langford, who recently revealed that she's done telling Hannah Baker's story.

That will take time away from the campaign trail for senators on the ballot in November, and the change will have a lopsided effect on Democrats.

In an Instagram post the Australian actress thanked producers for her "first ever job".

The new season will be produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Conten for Netflix. Netflix is notoriously tight-lipped around its viewership stats, but Variety reported that 6 million people in the USA tuned in within the show's first three days. We don't know when exactly, but we'll be sure to let you know when we find out.
