The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to provide security to theatres who want to screen Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's Kaala in Tamil and other versions from Thursday.

"The Cauvery Management Board should be formed as soon as possible".

According to, the film has earned Rs 60 crores by selling its theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu, arguably the biggest centre for Rajinikanth.

"As a government we will take all necessary measures, but if some organisations protest and because of this people don't turn up, under such circumstances and when they don't allow our movies to be released, I feel they should not release the movie", Kumaraswamy said.

The court asked the AAG what the police authorities have to say about providing security.
