'Consider joining us': Andrea Horwath makes strategic voting pitch to Liberal supporters

"People have rejected Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals", she said after a rally in downtown Toronto.

Kathleen Wynne has come to the realization that the Liberals will not win the June 7th Provincial election.

The Liberal candidates in three of Windsor-Essex's ridings have reacted to the news that Wynne is not expecting to be premier in the next government. "We know Andrea Horwath and her NDP team will stand up not just for these industries, but specifically for workers in Ontario", said Ken Neumann, USW National Director.

"They are anxious about a majority NDP government, and they want to know what it would mean to cast their vote for Liberal and what I'm saying is, 'Yeah, it looks like I'm not going to be the premier".

"I think it would be a very bad move", says Myer Siemiatycki, a politics professor at Toronto's Ryerson University.

The premier, whose party has been trailing behind the Progressive Conservatives and the New Democrats in the polls, is urging voters to elect as many Liberals as possible to prevent the other parties from forming a majority government.

Two women were shot in a law office in downtown Scottsdale, Arizona, across the street from government offices. An acquaintance found him dead from a gunshot wound inside his office shortly after midnight Saturday.

"He's missing out on an opportunity if he doesn't take part but that's up to him to decide", she said.

My vote goes to NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.

"I know that there are people who are trying to decide how to vote on June 7 and they are anxious about a majority (Progressive Conservative) Doug Ford government", Wynne said.

However, Wynne also announced that she would continue to campaign for Liberal candidates across Ontario, and she is encouraging people to vote Liberal in Thursday's election.

"We've been talking about our plan every day and it's all there in one spot to show Ontario voters the stark choice between a responsible and modest spending of a PC government and a radical NDP who will be disastrous for the people of Ontario", she said.

The move did not sit well with NDP Leader Andrea Horwath, who accused Wynne of "playing a risky game" that could propel the Tories to a majority. But are there enough "progressive" votes that the NDP can pilfer off Liberals to pull off the most unlikely upset in Ontario election history?

Lastman, who served as the high-profile Toronto mayor for two terms starting in 1998, said he trusts Ford to make life more affordable for average citizens and to return Ontario to its position as the economic powerhouse of Canada. Her faith in the Liberals was shaken and her vote will go to the NDP, she said.

In her latest campaign strategy, Wynne has addressed that fact that she is not well liked.

At this point Liberals have to ask themselves: do I ever bother voting for my party if my leader has basically given up the fight? The Conservative party and Green Party had not commented on working with scale-ups at the time of the report's release.

One could have concluded the NDP had very little likelihood of success in that circumstance, but 13 years later, in 1990, they formed the government.
