YouTube Music, YouTube Premium launched

YouTube Music is the new streaming service Google is set to launch next week, and will become an addition to an already saturated field. The new platform will be Google's most direct competitor to Spotify yet.

MANILA, Philippines - Google's launched a rebranding and splitting up of what was formerly known as YouTube Red. Well, kind of. It's being rebranded to YouTube Premium and will cost $US11.99 per month instead of $US9.99.

Albeit, powered with some extra punch as well.

YouTube Music will be rolled out to Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom in the weeks following May 22nd.

YouTube never reveals just how many people use YouTube Music or YouTube Red, but its services have largely operated behind the dominance of Spotify, which boasts 75 million paying users, and Apple Music, which is steadily catching Spotify's pace in terms of growth. It's now YouTube Premium.

Back on defensive line, left-back Benjamin Mendy was called up although he featured in few games for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

The new YouTube paid services will also help Google improve its relationship with the music industry, which has been hostile in the past.

No mention of India or any other Asian countries here, which means India and Asia isn't YouTube's focus as of now.

Screens of the YouTube Music though look great.

It is now clear that YouTube Premium wants to position themselves as the most happening online music streaming service.

"YouTube Music" is a mobile app and desktop player with multiple playlists, official albums and artists to prevent users from jumping back and forth between multiple apps and YouTube, the company said in a blog post.

Sensex, Nifty under pressure; ICICI Bank, IOC, RIL, SBI shares drag
During the week, the Sensex lost 687.49 points, or 1.93 per cent, while the Nifty dropped 210.10 points, or 1.94 per cent. Among banking stocks, HDFC Bank fell 1 per cent, ICICI Bank 0.9 per cent, Axis Bank 0.6 per cent and PNB 0.5 per cent.

YouTube does not disclose how many people pay for YouTube Red, its premium service.

What you can't do with YouTube Music, is watch ad-free videos, such at cats playing the piano, across the rest of the YouTube site.

"While users can enjoy the new ad-supported version of "YouTube Music" for free, we're also launching 'YouTube Music Premium, ' a paid membership that gives you background listening, downloads and an ad-free experience for $9.99 a month", the post added. Google Play Music, the company's previous music streaming service that is still inexplicably up and running despite teetering on the brink of extinction for years, will slowly be phased out according to USA Today.

Another report states that existing YouTube Red users would continue to pay $9.99 for YouTube Premium, but would be asked to pay $9.99 separately for YouTube Music.

Well, what if we present to you the case for, and against, the switch?
