New 'Google One' To Offer Cheap Storage Later This Year

Similarly, Google Drive consumers who are now using the 1TB plan will be shifted to the new 2TB plan at no additional cost, while new users will need to pay $9.99 per month (around Rs. 675) to get 2TB storage through Google One.

The upgraded storage plan options range from 100GB to 30TB, with pricing starting at $1.99 per month for 100GB of storage.

Google One plans will begin at $1.99 per month for 100GB, $2.99 for 200GB or $9.99 per month for 2TB. Users can add up to five family members to their plan.

The company's $9.99/month 1TB storage plan, which would be obsolete in light of the 2TB plan's price cut, won't be seeing any price tweaks. This further brings "access to extras" from certain of its products, like offers on select hotels that appear on Search, or credits on Google Play. It's unclear exactly what this means, but we'll likely know more soon. Every member gets their own private storage and access to all the benefits of Google One. A global expansion will follow after. Google will also send an email to paid subscribers that users will need to confirm to proceed with the upgrade. New customers will be able to join Google One "later this year".
