California couple accused of torturing ten children

Allen was booked on Friday for nine counts of felony torture and six counts of felony child abuse after specialists conducted interviews with the children. The discovery happened after police responded to reports of a missing 12-year-old child on March 31.

Jonathan Allen pleads not guilty to felony child cruelty & torture charges. He's being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail.

The 12-year-old was found and returned to the Fieldstone residence.

Ina Rogers, 30, and Jonathan Allen, 29, were arrested after 10 of their 11 children were discovered to be living in squalor and unsafe conditions in Fairfield, California, WDTN reported.

They arrested Rogers on suspicion of child endangerment and had all 10 of the children placed into Solano County's Child Welfare Services.

The children did not need medical attention but in the past few weeks eight of them said they had been abused, with allegations of burns, bruising, puncture wounds and injuries consistent with being shot with a pellet gun, authorities said. As the investigation continues, Henry said there's a "good chance" Rogers could face additional charges. Officials say the investigation revealed a long and continuous history of severe physical and emotional abuse of the children. "I am 30-years-old and I have 11 children and also homeschool all of my children and people don't agree with that lifestyle".

Rogers said the children slept on cots in one bedroom because they were close.

She said: "There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing".

"But my husband is an wonderful person".

Rogers, who says she got pregnant at 16 and has 11 biological children, said she feels she's being judged for having so many children.

Children taken from a squalid California home had been tortured for "sadistic purposes", a prosecutor has alleged.

Ina Rogers is insisting all the charges are completely ludicrous.

Throughout the tour, the four-bedroom home in Fairfield, 46 miles (74 kilometers) northeast of San Francisco, was messy with scuffed partitions and animal feces within the lavatory.

Court records do not indicate whether the parents have lawyers. Allen said she is estranged from her son and that he has kept his family away from the children. "I was afraid I could not find him", she told KGO-TV. One neighbor, Larry Magney, who lives across the street, said Allen and Rogers moved in about a year ago.

A horrified Peggy Allen, the mother of Jonathan Allen, said she had talked to Rogers about the dirty condition of the home, saying it was important to keep a clean house.

The mother and father would wave when leaving the driveway, however he by no means noticed the youngsters within the yard or heard them taking part in within the yard pool.

A mother is denying abusing her 10 children, after police said they were rescued from what they describe as "horrible living conditions" in a Fairfield, Calif., home.
