Man City reach 100 points to set new Premier League record

Man City reach 100 points to set new Premier League record

Victory over Southampton, thanks to Gabriel Jesus' injury-time strike, saw City become the first team ever to reach 100 points in a Premier League season.

They also finished 19 points clear of second-placed Manchester United, another record.

Stoke City, West Brom and Swansea City have been relegated to the Championship.

However, a 2-1 home defeat to Stoke sealed their fate to cap a 10-game winless streak to end a sorry season.

However, once that bounce wore off, a lack of firepower cost Carvalhal's men as they finished the season with fewer goals than anyone bar Huddersfield.

Iran vs. Israel: Is a major war ahead?
During the civil war, Israel is believed to have carried out hundreds of strikes in Syria, mainly hitting weapons shipments. A Syrian war monitor says a wave of Israeli strikes on suspected military positions in Syria this week killed 42 people.

There was never much chance of that but City's thrilling season was capped by another piece of individual brilliance, with Gabriel Jesus producing a superb lobbed victor in the 94th minute to spark wild celebrations.

"City have been wonderful this season, they thoroughly deserve it but next year we want to be closer to them and who knows, we could win it".

"There were two scenarios if we went down or we stayed up".

Tottenham beat Leicester 5-4 in the highest-scoring game of the day to secure third place above Liverpool.

Added Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson: "Not many people would say we would get to the Champions League final".

Marcus Morris claims that he's the second-best defender of LeBron James
James Harden, who in all likelihood is the league's MVP for the 2017-18 season, is poised to have a great series for Houston. And then [we] just [need] as many versatile guys out there as possible to guard LeBron and the other guys on the court.

Swansea paid tribute to long-serving custodians Angel Rangel and Leon Britton before kickoff.

On a day of farewells, with more than half the managers either departing or with questions about their future and several distinguished players ending their club careers, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger signed off with a 1-0 win at Huddersfield.

Jamie Vardy, Riyah Mahrez and Kelechi Iheanacho gave the visitors a 3-1 lead, but two Erik Lamela goals, an own goal by Christian Fuchs and Harry Kane's second of the day won it for Spurs. "It's incredible, I don't have words, 100 points!"

"Do I feel relief?"

"Numbers are numbers, they are the effect of the way we played". The Baggies couldn't stand as firm at Crystal Palace, though, losing 2-0 after second-half goals from Wilfried Zaha and Patrick van Aanholt.

Rooney agrees to deal to join DC United
However, nothing has yet been signed and there is still some uncertainty over how Everton boss Sam Allardyce feels about the deal. Rooney, 32, is reportedly set to sign with DC United in a deal worth as much as $14 million, according to BBC News.
