Earlier, while Pant ultimately lifted Delhi up to a competitive score, he was a big contributor to their early struggles, guilty of running out two of his batting partners - he has now been involved in four run-outs in this year's IPL. "There were some tough periods, we needed to soak that up but Shikhar was outstanding, he showed intent from ball one, it was a terrific knock", Williamson said in praise of his partner.

Pant, however continued his onslaught as he launched Shakib for a massive six to bring up his half century in 36 balls even as the out-of-form Glenn Maxwell (9) remained a mere spectator to the southpaw's fireworks. Both did not make any mistake in admonishing loose balls and making it easy to reach the target without any risk.
