Partly sunny, calm winds and a high of 76 in Longmont today

Tonight: Light snow showers are possible through the evening hours, but no accumulation is expected.

As the cold front that brought us severe weather Sunday moves out of the area, strong NW winds will usher in colder air behind the departing front. Dry conditions also stick around thanks to the ridge of high pressure overhead.

The storm will be slow to shift out of the area Monday, keeping skies mostly cloudy with a chance for a few showers. A southwest to northeast oriented band of cloud cover will arrive ahead of the cold front between 7 p.m. and midnight Wednesday night. Winds could gust as high as 40 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. The heaviest is now projected south of Marathon County where 3 to 6 inches of snow is possible.
