Paternal grandmother had custody of child killed in Knightdale incest case

Police in Knightdale, N.C. say they responded to a home around 9 a.m. where Steven Pladl, 45, and his biological daughter Katie Pladl, 20, were living when they were arrested on incest charges out of Henrico County, Va.in January.

Pladl's lawyer Rick Friedman told WNCN-TV in North Carolina that Mr Fusco and Ms Pladl were shot, and "then Steven took his own life".

Since the arrests, their son had been in the custody of Steven Pladl's mother. "She's in NY and he told me he was on his way and after bringing the baby to her and then he was coming back". I really believe that if the judges or the prosecutor or the defense attorneys in this case had any clue that the minor child or anyone would be harmed there would not be a bond set for any of the parties.

According to court documents, the incestuous relationship and pregnancy were revealed in journal entries written by Steven Pladl's 11-year-old daughter. After police broadcast an alert to be on the lookout for the suspect's vehicle, police from several agencies located and then converged on the vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder of the road with engine running in Dover, N.Y. - about 16 miles from New Milford.

The body of 45-year-old Steven Pladl was found in minivan on a NY highway Thursday morning, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The woman, who identified herself as Steven's mother, said the tragedy happened after his wife, who was also his daughter, broke up with him the day prior.

Police found the baby dead, alone in the house. Police then found Steven, who was 43 or 44, in a minivan in NY on Thursday.

Norwegian Air has expanded rapidly over the last 12 months, ordering new aircraft to serve a raft of new routes. EasyJet was up 2%, Ryanair up 1.7% Wizz Air 3% after IAG confirmed its position with Norwegian, however.

Before Katie moved into Alyssa and Steven's Henrico home, she lived in NY with her adoptive parents, Kelly and Anthony Fusco.

Friedman said Steven Pladl didn't see Katie as his daughter - they were strangers for 18 years - and he disputed the claim by Alyssa Pladl that her daughter had been brainwashed, calling Steven and Katie Pladl's relationship consensual.

Knightdale Police Chief Lawrence Capps said the infant's death is being treated as a homicide, and he confirmed it was related to crimes that occurred in New Milford, Connecticut and Dover, New York on Thursday. Under the conditions of her release, she was barred from making contact with Steven and required to live with her adoptive parents, who resided in NY.
