African athletes missing from Commonwealth Games

Team Nigeria has dismissed as baseless and disrespectful allegations that Australia's Border Police have made a decision to mount a close watch on its athletes at the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast.

Cameroon chef de mission Victor Agbor Nso said they left in "three waves", with the first three leaving on April 8, two more leaving April 9 and last night three others.

A further three athletes were reported missing from the athlete's village on Thursday, in addition to the news on Wednesday that eight Cameroonian athletes have disappeared over the course of the Games.

So too was evidence from the Australia Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) principal investigator, who discovered a syringe in the bag of Babu, which the athlete "admitted to be his property", the CGF said.

"They have taken action against two athletes, which we do not agree with at all. and we will appeal against the decision", they said. Games organising committee chairman Peter Beattie said as things stood, none of the athletes had breached Australian law.
