Kevin Durant's Contract Plans For Offseason Are Revealed

The Spurs lost at New Orleans in Wednesday's regular season finale and will now open the 2018 National Basketball Association playoffs on the road against the defending National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors.

Last summer Durant signed a two-year, $51 million deal, which was about $10 million less than what his max contract would have been. The Spurs (47-35) are the seventh seed in the Western Conference and will face the second-seeded Warriors (58-24) in Game 1 on Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m. CT in Oakland, Calif. Durant could then opt out after the 2018-19 season and sign a five-year, $219 million contract.

Golden State is much better set up to handle the absence of Curry than the Spurs are to handle the absence of Leonard. ESPN's Chris Haynes has reported Durant will restructure his deal with Golden State this offseason.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles considering sexual assault case against Kevin Spacey

"What Kevin did shows who he is, shows what he's about and I think it's clear that that's winning".

"Financially, obviously, what I wanted to do past year, it made sense", Durant told the Athletic in March.

Durant finished the regular season with the Warriors on Tuesday night after a heavy 119-79 loss to the Utah Jazz.

That means that if you're, say, a Yankees fan living in NY , you won't be able to watch your team on ESPN + due to the blackouts. The Last Days of Knight , the latest installment in the 30 for 30 documentary series, is also premiering exclusively on ESPN +.

A four-year max contract for $158 million ($39.5 million average annual value, with each year's salary rising). "That's a bridge too far for me, but anyway..."

Whatever Durant decides to do, it nearly certainly will result in him playing in the Bay Area next season, unless. In 68 games, he is averaging 26.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.

No matter what happens, Durant and teammate Steph Curry should be the faces of the franchise for quite some time with Curry signing a 5-year, $201 million deal last summer - the first $200 million contract in National Basketball Association history.
