Why Is There No MVP Talk for Russell Westbrook?

Why Is There No MVP Talk for Russell Westbrook?

So if you're bad at math like me, Westbrook needed 16 boards to make-up that 0.1 rebound-per-game margin to complete the triple-double season.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook became the first National Basketball Association player to record historic multiple triple-double seasons in the win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

With him on the court, the Thunder grab just over 53% of available rebounds. Paul George led the team in scoring with 27 points, Russell Westbrook racked up a triple-double of 23 points with 18 rebounds and 13 assists while Jerami Grant chipped in with 17 points off the bench.

Pope Francis will apologise to abuse victims in Chile
In his letter, Francis said the Chilean Church now had "to fix the scandal as much as possible and restore justice". A 2,300-page report sent to the pope includes testimony gathered from 64 people in NY and Santiago.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard and reigning Kia NBA MVP Russell Westbrook added himself to a page in the NBA history books that he now sits all alone on. At halftime, he had just one point, 11 rebounds and 12 assists and attempted two shots.

With much less fanfare this season, Westbrook quietly - well, as quiet as Westbrook can be - once again put up incredible numbers, and entered Wednesday's game needing 16 rebounds to clinch a second straight triple-double average.

In effect, Westbrook appeared to prioritize hitting double-digits in rebounds but didn't go out of his way in garbage time to pad his stats. "As long as we get the rebound, I don't think we worry about that". If people could get 20 rebounds a night, they would.

"Since everybody wants to be talking..."

"I take pride in what I do", Westbrook said to reporters Wednesday.

Westbrook came out attacking the glass early, finishing the first half with 10 rebounds.

'Momentum is on our side,' Oklahoma teachers union leader declares
Other parents said the walkout is a great example to students and many in Poteau will continue backing their kids and teachers. The group has grown to about 40,000 members since it was organized following a strike in West Virginia in early March.

This is the same guy who had a commercial dancing to a song with the lyrics, "Now I do what I want," repeatedly-if that doesn't tell you that Westbrook's gonna Westbrook, nothing will.
