Facebook deleted Mark Zuckerberg's messages from people's inboxes

The news comes as Facebook grapples with the revelation that some 87m users may have had their personal data harvested by Cambridge Analytica, a political consulting group that worked on the 2016 U.S. election and Britain's European Union referendum vote. Facebook is also cutting back what information is shared with third parties through Facebook events, groups and pages as well as updating login, search and account recovery procedures as they relate to third-party apps.

It is now broadening its investigation by joining the B.C. privacy czar's probe of Victoria-based firm AggregateIQ, which began late previous year, to determine whether the company broke privacy laws.

Further, the 87 million FB users who might have had their data shared with Cambridge Analytica will receive a detailed message informing them of this. "People who manage Pages with large numbers of followers will need to be verified", said Facebook advertising VP Rob Goldman and Facebook pages VP Alex Himel in a joint blog post.
