Ford Recalls 350000 F-150s and Expeditions

Ford said there has been one reported accident and injury caused by the transmission issue.

Over 350,000 Ford trucks and SUVs may have a faulty transmission lever that could slip out of gear and allow vehicles to roll even after being placed in park and turned off, the automaker said Friday. The cars are supposed to be parked without moving with a clip that locks the gear shift cable to the transmission in vehicles, but in some of these vehicles, the clip is not firmly in place, which could lead to the auto shifting to a different gear from the one the driver has chosen.

I "probably" won't attend White House Correspondent's Dinner
Both Obama and that year's host , Seth Meyers, tore into Trump with a series of scathing jokes from the dais. Among his quips: "I was very excited to receive this invitation and ruin your evening in person".

On some of the affected vehicles, the clip that locks the gear shift cable to the transmission may not be fully seated.

The 2018 Ford F-150 is subject to a recall due to a problem that results in the truck being in a different gear than the driver selected. If the pin is missing, the company says that the transmission on those vehicles might eventually lose the ability to park, even if the driver shifts the auto into that gear.

If the clip is not properly seated, it will be fixed at no cost to the customer.

Sensex gives 577-point salute to RBI
Only 2 stocks among Nifty50 ended in the red, which were Cipla (down 1.66 percent) and Bharti Airtel (down 0.29 percent). Bank stocks saw robust gains today, buoyed by the RBI's decision of relaxing provisioning norms for lenders.

The recall involves approximately 347,425 vehicles in North America, with 292,909 in the United States and federalized territories, 51,742 in Canada and 2,774 in Mexico. If the clip is not properly installed, technicians will adjust the shifter cable and secure the locking clip at no charge to the owner.

The Problem: This smaller recall is similar to the one listed above.

The second recall targets 161 F-150s and Expeditions, Lincoln Navigators and Ford Mustangs equipped with 10R80 transmissions that may be missing a roll pin that attaches the park pawl rod guide clip to the transmission case. In this situation, the transmission may eventually lose park function even when the shifter is physically in the "Park" position. There'd be no warning message on the instrument panel, and no chime when they exited the truck. Rollaways could occur if the driver didn't already apply the parking brake.
