Indians who were kidnapped by ISIS in Iraq found dead

The firebrand BJP leader appeared to be suggesting a formula for putting an end to the dreaded terrorist organisation. "But we came to know that my brother's remains are not arriving", he said. "We should not hesitate to send our troops to any country where ISIS has its base".

India said on Tuesday that 39 of its citizens, who were kidnapped by Islamic State militants in Iraq in 2014, had been confirmed dead after their bodies were found and DNA samples matched.

Swaraj's announcement shattered the hopes of the kith and kin of those killed by ISIS in Iraq.

"With full proof I can say these 39 are dead", Swaraj told reporters, adding that the missing workers had been murdered by ISIS, according to The Telegraph.

Yet Ms Swaraj said on Tuesday that Mr Masih's story was unreliable, and that he had escaped Mosul with a group of Bangladeshi workers before ISIL entered the area.

Burr said his panel doesn't have jurisdiction over the issues, so another committee would have to write any bills in Congress. Hackers gained access to the voter registration data of tens of thousands of voters in IL but did not alter that data.

"I had been saying for the last three years that all 39 Indians had been killed (by ISIS militants)", Masih said. "We reached there and requested Iraqi authorities to use a deep penetration radar, which detected many bodies under the surface", she told parliament.

The victims were mostly from poor families in India's northern state of Punjab and had been working for a construction company in Mosul when they were rounded up. They were trying to leave Mosul when they were abducted.

The 39th victim, a man from the Indian state of Bihar, has not yet been formally identified because he didn't have any immediate family.

However, Swaraj dismissed Masih claims during her statement in Rajya Sabha. "I spent six months in jail and now I am out on bail", he said. "Their dignity was supposed to be protected, but the forces of evil wanted to defame the principles of Islam", said Najiha, the head of Iraq's Martyrs Establishment, a government body dealing with people killed in the fight against ISIL.

Last July, Sushma Swaraj, India's foreign minister, told parliament she could not "commit the sin" of declaring the workers dead without proof.

Opposition leaders and families of the men said the government had kept them in the dark.

Investigators used DNA samples from relatives to confirm the identities of 38 bodies, Rajpurohit said.

The lone Indian wondered why the government didn't believe him all these years after having "spoken the truth".

For years Harjit Masih has been talking about what happened outside of the Iraqi city of Mosul, the Associated Press reported.

He said they all were killed in front of his eyes.

ISIL also kidnapped and held 46 Indian nurses, but they were released after 23 days. "However, if a person goes on an employment visa, then the agent's name also figures on the document", Yadav said.
