Bermuda police confirm found body of U.S. student

A police spokesperson said, "Police are asking the public assistance in locating 19-year-old Mark Dombroski, of Pennsylvania, who is a visitor to the island on a Rugby Tour with St. Joseph's University". Alcohol was not believed to have played a role in his disappearance, police said.

"Bermuda Police Service extends our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends", Howard said after a day of searching that included local authorities, volunteers and Dombroski's family.

Mark Dombroski, 19, of DE, was last seen at 1:15 a.m. Sunday at a bar called The Dog House, officials said.

Dombroski's family rushed to the island to join the search and retrace his steps.

Dombroski had been relaxing at The Dog House, a bar and restaurant in the capital of Hamilton, when he left by himself after midnight early Sunday, police officials said. His mother, Lisa, spoke to reporters Monday and thanked local businesses and police for their efforts to find her son. Police can confirm that CCTV footage now indicates that Mark was seen alone at 1:09am Sunday, March 18th walking east along Front Street just past the junction with King Street. "He wanted to get back".

ABC news reported that Dombroski was part of the St. Joe's rugby team competing in the Ariel Re Bermuda International 7's Tournament the past week.

Bermuda police confirmed on Monday afternoon that they had found Dombroski's body but did not announce a cause of death.

St. Joseph's University says they are in touch with Mark's family and Bermuda authorities and continues to pray for his safe return.
