Ozzie Newsome Elaborates On Ryan Grant, Michael Crabtree Situation

Baltimore has been trying to get receiver help throughout free agency, agreeing to sign Ryan Grant for four years and $29 million earlier in the week. The Ravens were looking to bolster their receiving corps in National Football League free agency and were able to do just that with the addition of Crabtree.

Free agent wide receiver Michael Crabtree met with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday, gaining a fan in that of Eric Weddle in the process. Two years ago, Crabtree had seven catches for 88 yards and three touchdowns during a 28-27 Raiders win at M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens failed Grant's physical because of the "injury", but the widespread belief is they had buyer's remorse after giving Grant a whopping $14.5 million guaranteed.

Newsome had said at the Scouting Combine that the Ravens were looking to "change that (wide receivers) room in terms of personnel", and Brown, who topped 1,000 yards for the Arizona Cardinals in 2015, is the first significant addition in that quest.

Thate means that Star Cards and items that may offer some kind of competitive advantage will be earned via gameplay. Furthermore, Crates will only include cosmetic items such as victory poses, emotes or Credits.

Crabtree, 30, was released Thursday afternoon by the Oakland Raiders after they signed Jordy Nelson.

After spending his first six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and the last three with the Raiders, Crabtree has 579 career receptions for 6,870 yards and 51 touchdown catches.

The Ravens will now meet with Crabtree, who has a history with the team.

Russian Federation to expel United Kingdom diplomats as crisis over nerve toxin attack deepens
Meanwhile, Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, has said that Johnson's accusation against the Russian president was unforgivable. He was granted refuge in the UK after a high-profile spy exchange between the United States and Russian Federation in 2010.

On what turned out to be the 49ers' last play in a 34-31 loss to the Ravens, Crabtree believes he was interfered with by cornerback Jimmy Smith, but the penalty was never called. The fact that the Grant deal fell through perhaps gives the Ravens more urgency, but also gives them more money.

"Michael has played very well against the Ravens, so we know first-hand the attributes he brings to the game", Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said in a statement.

"The thing about John is, he can take the top off of the defence", Newsome said.
