Major tributes planned to celebrate Stephen Hawking's life

World dignitaries, celebrities and academics on Wednesday mourned Stephen Hawking, the British physicist who died aged 76 after a cosmic career in which his mental genius transcended his physical disability to probe the secrets of the universe.

Stephen was revered in the science world for his discoveries around black holes and general relativity, but he was probably most famed for his resilience, diagnosed with a degenerative motor neurone disease while studying at university and given just two and a half years to live.

His 1988 best-seller "A Brief History of Time," in which he presented the best scientific ideas on the history, nature and fate of the universe for public consumption, catapulted him into the mainstream and has sold more than 10 million copies. I have so much I want to do first".

We all knew Professor Stephen Hawking was a legend, but now we know he was also a man of the people.

As slowly as a word per minute, Stephen Hawking used the twitching of the muscle under his right eye to grind out his thoughts on a custom-built computer, painstakingly outlining his vision of time, the universe and humanity's place within it. Be curious. And however hard life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at'.

"Without imperfection, you or I would not exist".

Guth, who said he first met Hawking in 1982, said he was in awe of him. "All we need to do is make sure we keep talking". It's a insane world out there. Although we have seen a small increase in donations the majority of visitors to our website are interested in finding out more about the disease.

It reminds the disturbing histrionics of Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot (who won an Oscar in 1990), but the difference is that Hawking was a closer and more widely known personage, in addition to being a scientific reference.

Mathieu, a combo defensive back capable of playing corner and safety, could effectively fill the shoes of both players. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported earlier in March that Mathieu appeared to be on his way out of Arizona.

In his personal life, he married twice and had three children, who on Wednesday paid tribute to their father's courage, persistence, brilliance and humour.

Claire Clark, a science teacher from The Corbet School in Baschurch, said that Prof Hawking's greatest achievement was to inspire people about the complexities of the universe.

The announcement prompted an outpouring of tributes from leading figures, from NASA and Tim Peake, to actor Eddie Redmayne who played Hawking in the 2014 film The Theory of Everything.

'We have lost a wonderful mind, an unbelievable scientist and the most fun man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, ' commented the actor, who was also nominated for an Oscar for his performance in The Danish Girl. He continued to say that when he said, "we would know the mind of God" he meant that we would know what God knows if there existed a God, which he believed there isn't.
