Woods, Els to captain Australia Presidents Cup

Woods, Els to captain Australia Presidents Cup

Though this time, it will be as captains.

Tiger Woods will reportedly serve as the USA team's captain for the Presidents Cup in Melbourne, Australia in 2019 and it is expected that he'll be introduced on Tuesday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, according to Alex Miceli of Morning Read.

The 42-year-old is in the field at this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida and said he won't turn his attention to next month's US Masters until after this week's event where he is seeking an incredible ninth victory at the famous Bay Hill layout.

The pair‚ with 18 majors between them (14 to Woods‚ four to Els) and 156 worldwide wins‚ are also the most experienced President's Cup players to captain the teams.

The two players infamously went head-to-head in a play-off in the 2003 Presidents Cup after the match ended in a 17-17 tie. "Let them go compete; I'm going to try to beat them, they're going to try to beat me", he added.

Fitbit launches its first fitness tracker for children
With the smaller design, the Versa's is the lightest weight smartwatch made of metal now on the market, Fitbit says. Fitbit says rashes can result from wearing the tracker all day, with sweat, water or soap trapped against the skin.

Regardless, for an event that unquestionably lacks a bit of allure, having Woods and Els as captains adds an immediate touch of box office potential. Woods, who has twice served as a Cup vice captain (2016 Ryder Cup, 2017 Presidents Cup), said he discussed the idea with past Cup captains like Davis Love III and Steve Stricker, and then ran it by PGA Tour commissioner. "And I didn't really think about it in that way. I've always wanted to become a captain and I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity".

"These two have served, and will continue to serve, as a bridge between past team members and captains who laid the foundation for the Presidents Cup and the stars of today".

Of course, Woods made sure he could still play at Royal Melbourne if qualified.

At the top of the question list was whether either had given any thought to being playing captains.

The Presidents Cup, which began in 1994 and was patterned after the Ryder Cup to give global players from outside Europe a chance to compete, has been one-sided since the start.

Danny Amendola Reportedly Signing With Miami Dolphins
The Patriots made efforts to conserve his snap counts to keep him healthy for the postseason, and it paid off in 2014 and 2016. The Bromance between Tom Brady , Julian Edelman, and Danny Amendola has not gone unnoticed throughout their time together.

If it does come to that point it just won't be my decision. Woods recalled seeing a sea of red shirts - American players, family and friends - "this entire team right in my line.so I know if I miss, we lose".

This will be the third Presidents Cup to be held at venerable Royal Melbourne, designed by Alister MacKenzie, who also designed Augusta National. Maybe the Presidents Cup will feel more than just an exhibition next year. "I called Jay up said, 'Hey Jay, might you be interested in me possibly being the captain in 2019 Presidents Cup team?' Silence". At No. 2, a beefy par 3 of 234 yards, Woods somehow coaxed in a 12-footer and Els, knocking knees and all, equaled it from 5 feet. That's more than any other player.

"One of the greatest moments this sport has ever seen". "That's a lot of pressure". Woods and Els offer two of the highest-caliber names in golf.

"It's unbelievable pressure", Els said.
