Bomb kills 9, wounds 27 in eastern Pakistan

The blast occured near the residence of Pakistan's ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. A suicide bomber targeted police camp at Raiwind city, 30 km away from Lahore.

A suicide bomb blast at a police post in eastern Pakistan late Wednesday killed at least nine people and wounded more than 20 others.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Jinnah and General Hospitals.

The blast occurred at a police checkpoint established to guard the Tableeghi Jamat headquarters in Raiwand, located in the outskirts of Lahore city, according to local Dunya News.
