Bills to trade LT Cordy Glenn to Bengals

The Buffalo Bills' wheeling and dealing offseason continued on Monday, as they reportedly made a big move up the draft board by trading left tackle Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Buffalo also receives Cincinnati's sixth-round pick (No. 187) and the Bengals get the Bills' fifth-round pick (No. 158). The Bengals are dropping nine spots in the first round of the draft to acquire Glenn, which is a steep price to pay if Glenn isn't a 100 percent.

They are expected to be held in April, but no official announcement has been made about when they will take place. The South Korean newspaper cited an unidentified senior official in South Korea's presidential office.

Glenn struggled with injuries after signing a five year, 60 million dollar contract in May of 2016. Buffalo will take over Cincinnati's spot at 12th overall while the Bengals fall back to number 21.

Glenn played just five games past year because of foot and ankle problems, so the Bills know how to play without him.

Meanwhile, the Bills are set at left tackle. He is under contract through 2020 and the Bengals are inheriting that deal, with $7.25 million base salaries in 2019 and 2020 and more $2 million roster bonuses. They are positioning themselves closer to the top of the 2018 NFL Draft, now within striking distance of being able to draft one of the top quarterbacks in the class.

Despite any concerns about Glenn's durability, he's a sensible addition for the Bengals after their offensive line was an area of weakness in 2017.

Overall, Glenn has played in 78 games (77 starts) during his six National Football League campaigns. General manager Brandon Beane should also have the trade assets required to move even higher up in the draft in order to select one of the top passers available.
