Trains cancelled as anti-ISIS protesters storm tracks at Manchester Piccadilly Station

All outbound train services came to a stand still in Manchester Picadilly Station on Sunday due to a protest staged by the sympathizers of the terrorist organization PYD/PKK.

Images on social media showed protesters sitting on train tracks with yellow banners in support of the YPG (People's Protection Units), a Kurdish militia group.

"Trains may be amended, cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes".

Protesters against the Turkish war on Syrian Kurds are blocking the tracks and some have tried to climb overhead line equipment, National Rail said.

Disruption is expected to continue until approximately 19:30.

Virgin Trains said services running to and from the station may be cancelled, delayed or terminated until further notice.
