France is the ninth largest foreign investor in India with a cumulative investment of over six billion dollars from April 2000 to October 2017.

Both leaders also took note of the commissioning of INS Kalvari, the first Scorpene submarine made in India by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. The French President stated that the visit will open a new era of strategic partnership in the coming decades. The French President had an interaction with as many as 300 students of different universities and colleges of the country.
