USA intelligence agencies expect Russian Federation to take a stronger stance in Central Asia because of the threat posed by the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia) in Afghanistan.

"I'm quite skeptical about all of this", Coats said.

"As I said, hope springs eternal", Coats told a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

He added that this would pose a serious threat not only to Central Asia, but also to the West, Russia and other countries where many Central Asians travel to find work.

Coats and other US intelligence officials have warned repeatedly that Russian Federation is already trying to interfere in the 2018 elections by using social media to spread propaganda and misleading reports, much as it did during the 2016 campaign.

Nashville mayor pleads guilty to theft, quits over bodyguard sex scandal
At a news conference later that morning, she thanked her supporters and called it a privilege to serve as mayor. As a term and condition of his probation, he will be required to reimburse the City of Nashville $45,000.

Russia has rejected playing any role in the USA election, but the US intelligence community has concluded it was personally directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He emphasized that the planned financial measures go "beyond" the 13 Russians, who were indicted by special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who was named past year by the Justice Department to lead an outside probe of Russian election meddling, including possible ties with Trump's campaign.

Trump's nominee to lead the National Security Agency, Lieutenant General Paul Nakasone, told Senate Armed Services he did not think Russian Federation expected much of a USA response to cyber-attacks.

Trump, who has refrained from pointing a finger at Moscow, acknowledged that Russian Federation interfered in the presidential election, but said it had no impact on the USA vote tally.

Lawmakers, particularly Democrats, have accused the Trump administration of doing too little to combat hacking of this year's election, when control of the U.S. Congress is up for grabs.

Shikhar Dhawan's quick-fire 90 takes India to 174/5
With India teetering at 9/2, Manish Pandey stepped in to join Dhawan and form a strong partnership that would steady the innings. The bowler had Jeevan Mendis plenty to thank as Mendis ran back from mid-off to finish a nice diving catch in the long-off area.

Coats told the lawmakers, "We assess that Russian Federation is likely to continue to pursue even more aggressive cyberattacks with the intent of degrading our democratic values and weakening our alliances".

Trump's nominee to lead the National Security Agency, Lieutenant General Paul Nakasone, told Senate Armed Services he did not think Russian Federation expected much of a USA response to cyber attacks.

"I hear that the phrase "whole of government approach" has become a catchall for 'it's someone else's job, '" Heinrich said.

At Tuesday's hearing, Coats said his office recently met with other agencies, including the National Security Agency, to discuss cyber threats to this year's midterm elections. National Security Agency director Admiral Mike Rogers told senators last week that the president has given him no new authority or capability for that ahead of the midterms.

A Russian Internet agency and more than a dozen Russian individuals interfered in the U.S. election campaign from 2014 through 2016 in a multi-pronged effort with the aim of supporting then-businessman Donald Trump and disparaging his rival Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Special Counsel said in an indictment on Friday.

Oldest Known Message In A Bottle Found On Australian Beach
Illman said that when the family took the note home to dry it out, they saw "very faint German handwriting on it". Each message was marked with the ship's coordinates, the date and the name of the ship.

"I did not understand it to be said in the context of Russian influence in the elections", Coats said.
