This Year's 'Battlefield' Is Going Back to WWII

With Electronic Arts confirming that the next Battlefield game will be playable it the company's EA Play event shortly before E3 2018, it was only a matter of time before reports started popping up with details as to its setting.

And here's the reported logo, leaked earlier today on reddit.

The next entry in EA's popular Battlefield series will take gamers back to World War II, the same setting Activision used in the most recent Call of Duty game.

Battlefield 1 was a big success for EA, though it's about time for the next game in the series to take the mantle. But given that game's multiplayer component was consistently overshadowed by its predecessor Battlefield 4, it makes sense that DICE and EA would want to return to the series' roots.

He also would get rid of the gun-free zones used by many school districts, saying such zones make schools targets of criminals. Trump said he'd ban so-called bump-stocks, which bump a semi-automatic rifle to function close to a fully automatic weapon .

A rumor from December claiming DICE is working on Battlefield: Bad Company 3 - set during the Vietnam War - is inaccurate, VentureBeat claims.

In fact, according to the report, EA and DICE decided long ago that the futuristic setting wasn't where they wanted to keep the franchise. But GamesBeat backs up what TheAlmightyDaq revealed previous year by also reporting that DICE is holding onto a potential Bad Company sequel in case they need to make another strategic shift in the future, just as they did with Battlefield 1 and are doing with Battlefield V. That said, DICE is listening to fans of Bad Company, and it is keeping a potential sequel in its back pocket in case it needs to make another strategic shift in the future.
