Avengers: Infinity War Pushed Up To A Late April Release!

Marvel Studios announced on Twitter Thursday that the film's release date had been moved up to April 27.

In a highly coordinated effort, Robert Downey Jr and the Marvel Studios Twitter accounts announced a last-minute date switch for the next Avengers movie.

Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) will be among the cast returning for the sequel. The exchange is comical and it ends in incredible news for fans of the franchise as you now need to wait one week less to catch the premiere.

There are a number of reasons the studios could have for making the move, which puts additional distance between the third Avengers and box-office competitors like Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Meanwhile, the Avengers: Infinity War merchandise teased a new villain coming in the film.

The Avengers are assembling a week earlier than expected. The Film Edinburgh commission, which liaises with production companies and location managers, said Avengers: Infinity War was "the largest and [most] complex shoot ever to film in the historic Old Town" and was worth at least £10m to the economy. While movies like Iron Man, Captain America: Civil War, and other MCU classics receive nods, the film will also shuffle the deck in ways that will allow the folks behind these Marvel movies to try new things going into Phase 4.
