700bhp Ferrari 488 Pista breaks cover

Today Ferrari has announced the newest member of the clan: the 488 Pista.

90 kilograms (198 pounds) has disappeared, leaving the car's dry curb weight at 1,280 kilograms (2,822 pounds). The mill also has an additional 10 Newton-meters (7 pound-feet) of torque for a share of 770 Nm (568 lb-ft).

Put all this together, and the 488 Pista sprints from 0-100km/h in less than 2.9 seconds, and tops out at 340km/h.

Jennifer Lawrence Perfectly Calls Out Sexist Critics Over Skin-Baring Dress Controversy
Everything you see me wear is my choice. "And if I want to be cold THATS MY CHOICE TOO!" she concluded. This will Lawrence's last film for a while as she plans on taking a year out to focus on activism.

Details from an internal presentation suggest the vehicle generates 20% more downforce than a standard 488, helping pin it to the road at high speed.

The Ferrari road auto division has access to the F1 team's full-size wind-tunnel, so you can be sure all those new scoops, winglets and sculpted bodywork is extremely functional, and will help the Pista stick to the track like a clingy ex-partner. The Pista gets a 709bhp engine derived from the 488 Challenge racecar, and will also feature newly revised bodywork working towards maximising downforce and reduce drag.

The company teased the 488 Pista in a video, above, earlier this month.

Chelsea Made Life Difficult For Barcelona- Ernesto Valverde
He finally broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, arrowing a low shot past the Barcelona goalkeeper following a short corner. However, Barca remain unbeaten in 31 La Liga and Champions League games under Ernesto Valverde thanks to a late rally.

Unique 20-inch wheels are made from carbon-fibre and larger brakes will likely be carbon ceramic as standard, and the track-focused model will have retuned suspension and a re-calibrated version of Ferrari's Slide Slip Control traction management system tailored for track use.

The 488 Pista also makes more power than the 458 Speciale-a lot more power. The air intakes have been moved to the car's rear spoiler to smooth out the airflow, while the turbochargers come from the 488 Challenge and are fitted with integrated rev sensors.

Inside, the 488 Pista doesn't stray that far from a standard 488 GTB, but follows the grand tradition of keeping things lightweight and motorsport-inspired. Ferrari Design used innovative elements, such as the aerodynamic S-Duct at the front, as an opportunity to visually shorten the car's nose, creating an original floating wing effect.

SpaceX satellite broadband test launch delayed to Thursday
During that mission, SpaceX recovered two side boosters, which landed smoothly back down on Earth on two separate launchpads. SpaceX successfully launched the first Falcon Heavy, touted as "the world's most powerful rocket", into space on February 6.

There are several technologies incorporated by Ferrari to extract the maximum possible performance. The concept of the front is echoed in the dolphin-tail rear spoiler which appears suspended to provide an impression lightness and efficiency, while the rear volumes add a sense of power to the tail.
