Flyers discussing trade for Wings' Mrazek

Mrazek, 26, is 8-7-2 with a 2.89 goals-against average and a.910 save percentage this season, but he has been heating up lately: 5-2-2 in his past 10 appearances with a 2.01 goals-against average and a.937 save percentage.

Mrazek has appeared in 22 games this season, 18 starts, winning eight games with three shutouts.

Remarkably the Red Wings (24-25-9, 57 points) are seven points behind the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders in the race for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.

He set career highs in batting average, on-base percentage (.341), slugging percentage (.460), doubles, and extra-base hits (45). That will allow them to keep their ultra-talented outfield of Andrew Benintendi , Bradley and Mookie Betts intact.

The Flyers had no interest in Mrazek last week, when the Red Wings asked for a third-round pick. Nashville defenseman Anthony Bitetto was caught well up ice, leading to a breakaway for Witkowski, who beat Saros with a backhand on the Red Wings' first shot. Defensively, the Nashville Predators are allowing 2.5 goals per game and are killing 82 percent of their opponents power plays.

If it is true the Flyers could have had Mrazek for just a third-round pick last week then this might look like a win.

The moment of the game came after a Red Wings icing as Matthew dispatched a well-placed shot past Petr Mrazek for the game-winner. He has been a number one goalie for most of his career with the Red Wings.

Women who regularly use cleaning supplies are prone to lung damage
Some 85 percent of the females reported being the main cleaner at home, while only 46.5 percent of the men reported the same. He added that it was not possible to compare cleaning and smoking with regard to how harmful they can be.

The time was now for the Flyers to make a trade. Previously, it was reported that Hextall rejected an offer from the Red Wings that would have sent Mrazek to the Flyers for a third-round pick. With starter Brian Elliot already shelved for several weeks and Philadelphia battling for playoff position, Mrazek will give them stability while Elliot and Neuvirth recover.

Mrazek, 26, is in his final year of a 2-year contract and has a $4 million salary cap hit.

Mrazek will be a free agent after the season.
