Wales rattled by magnitude 4.4 quake

Thousands reported feeling the tremor from Cornwall to Liverpool, and there's no report of casualties by far.

What has been described as a minor quake hit with a 4.4 magnitude and affected parts of Wales and England at around 2:31pm today, Saturday 17 February.

Closer to the epicentre, James Leonard tweeted: "Wow was that an quake in Swansea my house just shook".

But not everyone felt the earth move, with others complaining they had missed it.

Tremors were felt across the Bristol Channel into England too.

The British Geographical Survey has been investigating the incident and reported the magnitude at 4.4 with a depth of 7.4km.
