HTC Smartphone Chief Chialin Chang Resigns Following Google Acquisition

HTC Smartphone Chief Chialin Chang Resigns Following Google Acquisition

So far, HTC has not named a successor to Chang.

The reason for the resignation of Chialin Chang is not clear but as per sources, he has resigned because of his personal carrier plan.

Joaquin Phoenix will play Batman villain The Joker in standalone DC movie
Imagine for a moment Phoenix's Commodus from Gladiator speaking with the Joker's singsong voice, and then try not to smile. Sources say the story will take place in the '80s and have more of the look of a gritty crime drama than comic-book movie.

Chang joined HTC as its Chief Financial Officer in 2012 before becoming the smartphone and connected devices president in 2016.

On the other hand, Chang's position with HTC was no longer as relevant as it used to be.

Liverpool join Barcelona in the race for Christian Eriksen
The match finished at 2-2, giving Tottenham an away-goal advantage ahead of the second leg in London on March 7. We go to London tied and we play a final, and probably they will be under more pressure than us".

The company did not mention who will take over this role, but it's obvious that Chairwoman and CEO Cher Wang will have to work more to find a replacement. HTC has confirmed today that Chialin Chang, the President of Smartphone and Connected Devices Business, has left the company effective immediately. However, after Google acquired HTC's smartphone design and engineering teams, his position was somewhat redundant. An HTC handset said to be the HTC U12 (aka Imagine) was recently photographed at a 5G event run by a local carrier in Taiwan.

HTC has also been manufacturing less smartphones in total and over the course of a year ago it made less than 10m units. However, it remains to be seen how active HTC will be in that sector, now that its talented mobile team is over at Google.

Spice Girls perform at the Olympic stadium during the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games in London August 12, 2012. Move over Gary Barlow, the Spice Girls are next in line to launch their own TV talent show.

HTC has entered the VR business in a bid to diversify its product portfolio and add sales to offset the impact of competition in the global smartphone market. Some speculate that the HTC U12 might be the company's last flagship, but nothing is confirmed at this point.
