Adam Rippon's Olympic performance won him a bronze medal & America's heart

Last night, Mirai Nagasu became the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Winter Olympics. But everyone is talking about Mirai Nagasu landing the triple axel during the ladies' free skate.

To complete an axel, a skater takes off from the outside edge of one skate, rotates in the air and lands on the outside edge of the opposite skate.

Nagasu's performance on Sunday, set to "Miss Saigon", included eight other triple jumps and earned her a score of 137.43 points, good for second place in the free skate.

Only two other women ever have landed a triple axel at the Olympics.

Tonya Harding managed to land the move back in 1991, followed by Kimmie Meissner in 2005.

Despite her flawless execution, however, the American team took home the bronze medal, behind the Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation who placed second, and Canada who won team skate gold. "This is definitely history, or herstory, whatever way you want to put it". As well as being a champion thirst trap on Instagram, he's embroiled in a public feud with Vice President Mike Pence, standing up for himself as one of America's few openly gay athletes at the Winter Olympics.

Luke Wilson, pro golfer Bill Haas involved in fatal auto crash
Haas, 35, from Charlotte, North Carolina now ranks 67th in the Official World Golf Ranking. "Bill was very fortunate", he said. Haas, a six-time victor on the PGA Tour , was in L.A. for this week's Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club.

But unlike Nagasu, this was Rippon's first taste of the Olympic Games. Although she applied for Sochi in 2014, Nagasu was not selected to compete.

"Four years ago when I was left off the team, I wanted to make another Olympic team, and I knew I would really have to be something special", Nagasu told The New York Times. "We were so upset and sad and, honestly, we were like depressed that we weren't at (the Olympic Games)". "And to see my friend go out there and perform great was even better".

"We were eating In-N-Out because we were so upset that we weren't at the Olympic games", Rippon said. The American figure skater also had some wondering,"Wait, is that a giant "USA" tattoo on her inner thigh?" Mirai Nagasu chose to try the triple.

IDC: Google Sold A "Tiny" 3.9M Pixel Phones In 2017
One thing not many people will realize is that Google's smartphone pricing is even more high-end than Apple's, though. As IDC points out , it leaves Google with "a tiny portion of the 1.5 billion market size" for smartphones overall.

So far, 2018 has turned out to be a completely different story for both Rippon and Nagasu who are roommates at the PyeongChang Olympics.

"But more importantly, I've learned from every setback, proudly own up to my mistakes, grown from disappointments", Rippon went on, "and now I'm a glamazon bitch ready for the runway".

But what we do realize - and I think I learned this from Evgeni Plushenko actually - is a lot of things have to go right". It was the only hint that he had felt the intense pressure to deliver for his team and his country on an Olympic stage.
