The Egyptian forward laid the ball through to Firmino and the Brazilian finished the one-on-one easily to score his first goal in seven games.

Mazdzer then unleashed a third-round run of 47.534, the finest time of the entire competition to date, that vaulted him into second place, just behind Felix Loch's 2:22.259. But the 22-year-old Ridgefielder finished 37th in the third run with a time of 49.593 and dropped to 26th in the overall standings. All he needed to do in his fourth and final run today was not falter-and he didn't.

Mazdzer finished 13th in two previous Winter Games, so this was quite a step up.
