Joaquin Phoenix will play Batman villain The Joker in standalone DC movie

Joaquin Phoenix will play Batman villain The Joker in standalone DC movie

The proposed origin story will exist in a separate continuity strand to Suicide Squad and other DC Extended Universe films such as Justice League and Wonder Woman in a new series of standalone stories.

To recall, it was a year ago when Warner Bros announced that it would be producing a solo "Joker" movie that will be separate from the studio's current brand of DC movies, the DCEU, which interconnects the story of other DC movies.

Nonetheless, as of this writing, Warner Bros has not yet issued an official statement to confirm the veracity of the reports saying Phoenix will play the Joker in the Clown Prince's origin story.

On Windows, this means HEVC decoding using DXVA2 and D3D11, while on Android, HEVC decoding is done using OMX and MediaCodec. Then: Open VLC, select Playback Renderer and select your Chromecast device from the list of available options.

DC and Warner Bros. are ramping up production of the Joker standalone movie with Joaquin Phoenix most likely to play the role and will be directed by Todd Phillips who directed The Hangover.

He will reprise in the Suicide Squad sequel and the Harley Quinn spinoff. Sources say the story will take place in the '80s and have more of the look of a gritty crime drama than comic-book movie.

But this isn't the first time the "Her" actress has been considered for roles within the DC Comics family.

State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee told a TV channel, "We have already set guidelines for schools to follow. They have assured us that the CCTVs will be working from tomorrow again", CWC representative Sudeshna Ray said.

Phillips is on board to co-write and direct the movie. Imagine for a moment Phoenix's Commodus from Gladiator speaking with the Joker's singsong voice, and then try not to smile.

It just means that Phoenix will take on the character's role in this particular movie, which will allegedly fall under a new banner of DC Comics that will broaden the studio's opportunities to branch out with side storylines not included in its cinematic universe. Phoenix did, however, previously pass on playing both Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Disney-Marvel's Doctor Strange, so maybe there's hope after all. Gus Van Sant's film "He Won't Get Far on Foot", about a man on the road to sobriety after a life-changing accident, was the most recent movie to feature Phoenix.
