Moreover, Paramount was unwilling to wait for Abrams any longer, so they wanted to release Cloverfield Paradox in its current form and move on. It's a far cry from 2008's fun, inventive Cloverfield and 2016's smart, intense 10 Cloverfield Lane. Paradox similarly taps a familiar sci-fi trope, in this case the Alien-esque thriller in which an unshaven crew is trapped in a dimply lit space-ship and unpleasant hi-jinks ensue.

Unlike what happened with 10 Cloverfield Lane, audiences knew ahead of time that Bad Robot's God Particle - directed by Julius Onah and based on a story by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung - was actually Cloverfield 3. The super short trailer commemorated the 10 year anniversary of the original film while dropping some seriously glorious snippets from the brand new film.

The Cloverfield Paradox should be credited with at least one thing, its rapid Netflix release.

The Pakistani ambassador added, "Recently, the Indian forces have employed new tactics [against the Kashmiris] ..., blinding thousands of innocent civilians by pellet guns".

We see brief glimpses of the protagonist of the new film in the rubble as a massive Clover stomps around the city hidden in debris. The ensemble cast includes including Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Bruhl, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Chris O'Dowd, Ziyi Zhang and David Oyelowo.

United States media commentators are describing the move as a potentially game-changing challenge to the traditional model employed around the ultra-premium Super Bowl ad slots, which deliver the highest number of eyeballs of any Stateside telecast during the year.

The Los Angeles Times' Justin Chang questions if there's enough Cloverfield connective tissue for franchise fans to dig into: "Die-hard Cloverfield conspiracy theorists can distract themselves by figuring out this story's relationship with the other two films, even if the connections feel vague and scattershot at best". A traditional space station horror setup, the film takes viewers into the near future where Earth is facing a global energy crisis.

Rumour: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is this year's CoD game
The next Call of Duty game in 2018 will be Call of Duty Black Ops 4, according to a self-proclaimed "industry insider". But what's interesting is that it's slated to hit the Nintendo Switch along with the PS4, Xbox One , and PC.
