'Bachelor' contestant spotted on missing persons list in California

Californians on the hunt for a young woman reported missing a year ago found her in an unexpected place: appearing on "The Bachelor".

To make things even more headache inducing and hilarious, the person who reported Bekah as missing was her mother.

As explained in a North Coast Journal follow-up article, the 22-year-old Martinez posted September 17 on social media that she'd be "giving up" her phone and social media for several weeks.

The Journal, which posted an additional story saying the young reality star was not missing, also contacted the Humboldt County Sheriff's office, which was able to reach Martinez and confirm she is not actually missing and remove her from the list.

"If Boston played them right now, Boston would probably sweep the (Cavaliers), especially without Kevin Love ", Sharpe said. With 15 points and six assists, Elfrid Payton was one of seven players to score in double figures for the Magic (15-35).

A public information officer for the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, Samantha Karges, told People that Bekah was reported missing by her mother on November 18 after not hearing from her since November 12.

Martinez mocked the mix-up Friday on Twitter.

Local police attempted to contact Martinez and her close friends, but never received any response. The newspaper asked readers if they recognized anyone in their collection of missing people, and Martinez was quickly recognized as a contestant on "The Bachelor".

Interestingly enough, she wasn't the only person from the list who was not missing. "Yep", O'Brien wrote in a Facebook comment, "Rebekah Martinez is on this season of The Bachelor". She said Martinez called her later on November 18 and said she was headed home. The deputy said that they had spoken with Bekah M. on the phone and confirmed that she is, in fact, alive and well.

Her mother apparently reported her missing after she had gone to work on a marijuana farm in Humboldt County, California. She was then removed from the Missing and Unidentified Persons Unit. The photo, used on her Missing Person notice on the State of California Department of Justice's website, is the one shown above right.

After the North Coast Journal's story went viral, Martinez tweeted about this fascinating plot twist, hopefully, bringing any and all concerns to an end.

"Honestly the scariest thing about this story is that my efforts to hide The Worst Drivers License Photo Of All Time have been thwarted", she added.
