Trump's lawyers arguing Mueller hasn't met bar for interview

There have been a number of bipartisan bills that would attempt to protect the special counsel from firing by the president and you said in December you haven't seen the need for legislation protecting Mueller.

Collins gave credence to the report that Trump wanted to fire Mueller, saying the president "talked with his counsel, who explained to an angry and frustrated president why it was a bad idea, and that was seven months ago".

The decision to possibly prosecute Mueller is apparently being bandied about amongst Trump and some of his closest friends.

Graham also appeared to brush aside the White House's dismissal of the investigation as politically motivated and the president's denial that he tried to fire Mueller a year ago, as was reported by The New York Times and subsequently confirmed by other news organizations. "We have elected the President, he has all this power".
