Five reported missing in Pittsburg County oil rig blast

Smoke billows from the site of a gas well fire near Quinton, Okla., early Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.

Part of the rig appears to have collapsed in the explosion.

Five oil rig workers are missing after an explosion Monday in an Oklahoma gas well, Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris said in a press conference.

One person was treated on site for burns, but no one was taken to the hospital, said Pittsburg County Emergency Management Director Kevin Enloe.

Rare move by NASA: Astronaut bumped from space station
The removal is also significant, as Epps was to be the first African-American US astronaut assigned to the space station team. But all of sudden, the space agency made a decision to bump Epps off the upcoming flight and replace her with a backup.

They did not attempt to put out the fire directly to avoid spreading hazardous materials, Enloe said.

The incident occurred about three miles from another explosion that happened past year on a site owned by Trinity Operating LLC, located just west of Quinton.

"We are not trying to spread water on it, and spread hazmat, because there are going to be contaminants on location", said Enloe.

Morris says he can't confirm any injuries or fatalities from the blast. Morris said it remains under investigation.

How this pensioner sneaks past airport security
Her arrest last week was at least the 10th time she's been caught trying to slip past airport security without a plane ticket. Lauren Huffman, spokeswoman for the Chicago Department of Aviation, said no passengers or visitors were ever at risk.

"It's a pretty dramatic deal to go through", he said.

"There's been several explosions since the guys have been on the scene fighting the fire", Enloe said. "We will provide more details as they are known".

State environmental and regulatory officials have been notified and were heading to the scene, according to Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management spokeswoman Keli Cain.

The local sheriff says more than 20 employees were on site when a drilling rig exploded in eastern Oklahoma, and five remain unaccounted for. Telephone and email messages left by The Associated Press with Red Mountain were not immediately returned. The company said it was responding to the incident.

Cardinals Nearing Deal With Steve Wilks; Brian Flores Out Of Mix
I'm pretty sure most know this. "Him and Sean (McDermott) are two very good people who are very special to this organization". Wilks also coached for 11 years at the collegiate level, including a one-year stint as head coach at Savannah State in 1999.

The director said a fire control company is also working with the rig operators to shut off the gas well and contain the fire.
